This is a recap of the April 2009 meeting of the First State Brewers The April meeting of the First State Brewers was held at the home of Joe Jacobs. (Joe is sometimes known as JoeBob or JR). Thank you Joe for hosting! The weather was perfect, as we gathered around Joe’s garage around back to brew an all-grain batch with the new brew system Joe built.

The main topic of discussion was for the AHA sponsored Big Brew event. Dave Lawrence will be hosting the Big Brew on Saturday, May 2nd, at his house in Newark. (Directions to follow). Setup for the event will start around 8:00 am. Dave has a 20 X 50 foot patio for our brewing stage. Plans are to have three 10-gallon brewing system running at the event. More brewing is welcomed, but if you plan to brew, please RSVP, so we can be sure we have room. Things to bring to the Big Brew:

The May meeting of the First State Brewers is this Friday, May 15,  will be held at the home of Scott Bieber.  The meeting will get started around 7:30 pm.

Directions:

From I95, take Rt. 896 south, cross the canal bridge and pass the Summit Airport.
Turn Left at the intersection with the Happy Harry’s and Exxon Station on the left.  That remains Rt. 896 (aka Boyd’s Corner Rd.)
After about a half mile, Take the first left onto Ratledge Rd.
Then in a few hundred yards, turn left on Crystal Run Dr. going into our development (Crystal Run Farms).
Take the 2ND left onto our street (Lennox Dr.)
Our house is #7 which is straight ahead at the end of the cul-de-sac.
