The February meeting of the First State Brewer’s was hosted by Joebob Jacobs at Jacobs Manor on February 20, 2014. We cannot thank Joebob enough for his hospitality.
I apologize for any misspellings in the translation from the hand writings. Send any corrections to Wayne Hanna at bluehende@msn.com.
During the introductions it was noted that a new business is coming from some of our members. Keep tuned for further details from our very talented members.
Jacob Dryer presented his water experiment. He was kind enough to try to isolate 3 types of water. They were tap, filtered, and bought sources. This was a great way to test your palate and try to help with defining how water effects our brewing.
Here’s the attendance and beers brought by club members.

March Meeting
The March meeting of the First State Brewers will be held at the home of Will Fissel on Friday, March 20, at 7:30 pm.
Fissel lives at 505 Wooddale Rd, Greenville DE 19807
Some GPS systems recognize it as Greenville, some as Wilmington and some as Hockessin; so maybe best just to put “505 Wooddale Rd 19807”?
If you’re traveling down Lancaster Pike (DE-48) towards Hockessin, turn Right onto Rolling Mill Road at the bottom of the hill across from the old Hercules Country Club. Follow Rolling Mill down and turn left through the Wooddale Covered bridge. Once through the bridge, make your first left down the dirt road. 505 Wooddale is the third house down. You can park at the beginning of the street, less than 1/8th of a mile away.
