NHC Club Night
Ron Price again discussed the AHA Homebrew Conference Club Night.

December meeting
The December meeting of the First State Brewers will be held at the home of Brian Verdine & Moriah Guise on Friday, December 14, at 7:30 pm.

Directions:

We live at 216 W 38th Street, Wilmington, DE 19802. I’m not sure how most GPS systems will try to take you, but I know Google will not automatically give you the best way to go if you are coming from the south, so check out the directions below. Feel free to call if you have any problems (484-843-1323).

Parking:
Everyone will just have to find somewhere to park on the street. Usually it clears on weekends nights so I don’t think parking will be an issue at all. If you get to the end of our block and don’t find anything (38th is a one-way), there’s usually space on the first cross street (West St.) since none of the houses face that street. We’ve never had to go that far. We will keep our cars out front of our house until right before the meeting and then move them into our alley, so there should be at least a couple spots right out front.

Coming from the south:
The quickest way and the best way to avoid some of the rougher parts of town would be to follow signs for N Broom Street/E Miller Road when you get to the 202/Concord Pike exit. There’s a special turning lane for N Broom Street that is divided from the rest of 202 which you’ll actually have to get into from the 95 ramp (after the 202 N exit splits to the left as you are on the exit ramp, you’ll need to get in the left hand lane to make the right turn into the N Broom Street turning lane… weird). Once you get in the turn lane, take the left onto N Broom Street and go straight until you get to W Lea Boulevard where you will take a right (about a block after the Home Depot). Go a few blocks and take a right onto N Washington (at 2nd light). Go through the light at the circle and take a left at the next light (W 38th St). We are the first door on the right that faces 38th. This is a bit circuitous, but it has a LOT less stoplights.

Coming down 202 from the north:
Immediately after you cross under 95, look for the turn lane to N Broom Street on your left, then follow the rest of the directions above.

Coming from the north on 95:
Take exit 9 (DE-3 S / Marsh Rd). Left on Marsh Rd. at the bottom of the ramp. Right on Washington Street Ext. Stay going straight through a circle intersection and you’ll start to hit numbered streets. Left at the light on W 38th street. We are the first door on the right that faces 38th.
