April 2013

The March meeting of the First State Brewers was held at the home of Chris Gimbernat.

Brian Light is working on a club banner for the National Homebrew Conference.

Now is the time to start brewing if you intend to donate beer for the NHC Club Night event. I hope our club can provide at least a dozen kegs the we can serve at our booth. :-) If your keg is a pin-lock, please remember to bring a picnic tap and air to serve with, since our jockey box will be a ball-lock.

The bus trip to Heavy Seas will be Saturday, May 11. The original bus backed out and Jason had to reserve a school bus, instead. However, this means there are more seats. So, if you think you would like to go, contact Jason Breault (Way2FastXL1200C@aol.com), to see if there are any seats left.

Big_Brew This year’s Big Brew will be held at JoeBob Jacob’s house on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Justin Sproul from Iron Hill in Newark once again offered to donate a sack of grain to us. Thanks Justin! There will be a special presentation by Robert Fullmer by brewing with entirely Medieval brewing techniques. Should be very interesting!

By the way, if you haven’t joined the First State Brewers Facebook Group, you are missing out on a lot of great brewing discussion! We have lots of fun, too! This is different than the Facebook Page we have. The Group allows us to interact with one another. :-)
