Beer Hunter: The Movie
Just found this on Facebook! I really miss the Michael Jackson! I didn’t know a movie was being made. Fall 2010! Woohoo! I can’t wait!
Michael Jackson, beloved beer journalist, inspired thousands of brewers and beer enthusiasts with his books and television series, “The Beer Hunter.” He achieved cult status in the U.S., but many don’t realize his fame within the world of whiskey writing and tasting.
Filmmaker J.R. Richards traveled extensively with Michael throughout the United States and Europe, filming Michael as he got the story behind the world’s greatest beer and whiskey. Through this footage and interviews with leading brewers and beer enthusiasts, we are treated to an intimate picture of Michael: his enigmatic personality, his extraordinary life, his remarkable contributions, and his secret struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Set to release in the fall of 2010 in conjunction with the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, proceeds from the film will benefit the National Parkinson’s Foundation, and the complete library of edited footage will be available to the public on DVD and online at www.beerhuntermovie.com. Feel free to contact us to make a tax-deductible charitable donation to support the film and the Parkinson’s Foundation, and feel free to contact us with your footage, photos, and memories of Michael.

- Seth : Have to have an organization in order to get them? If we bring in cones to compare at a meeting is it "research?" I say yes!
- Seth : Think maybe they'll buy "research" on the testing local terrestrial conditions (terroir) and lattitude orientation variabilities on the flavor and aromatic proporties on various hops varieties in regards to brewing and other commercial applications? Worth a shot, I say.
- Seth : Interested in the Southern Brewer and the Blue Northern Brewer, myself.
- Scott Johnson : looks interesting, but seems that you have to report back on your "research" May have to try it....researchin g about how homegrown hops makes my beer better :)
- Seth : Interesting. Saw this from Morebeer's facebook posting: USDA Germplasm Resourse Information Network (GRIN) has hops rhizomes for free, for research purposes. Anyone tried it? Here's the link: «link»

Delmarva United Homebrewers aka. DUH. We brew, we drink, we have a little fun. Meetings are the second Thursday of every month at Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Summer meetings are held elsewhere, unless we get an invite. (This is a great club for people living down-state!)
